Bluestacks Mac Big Sur

  • I finally fixed the BlueStacks from Crashing. Make sure the Virtual Technology (VTx) in the bios is enabled. Download BlueStack 4.2.7 for Big Sur.

BlueStacks currently is not supported on MacOS 11 Big Sur, however, our development team is rigorously working on it to fix the issue at earliest. Here are the MacOS requirements. We have no ETA for the release of a fix at this time as the issue is being worked on. Please stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.

Try restarting the computer. Then try launching the app. After launching the app, check System Preferences Security tab again. I had a similar issue installing some Intel software which required a driver/extension. After the reboot the software just worked.

If you are running macOS 10.15 Catalina, then maybe the software isn't compatible or some new Catalina security feature is blocking it. I haven't used Catalina yet, so I cannot advise you further on it.

You may need to contact the publisher or developer of the software for assistance.

HiBig
In macOS Catalina, when my enterprise app (MyApp) tries to access Desktop folder first time, user would get prompt message '<MyApp> would like to access files in your Desktop folder' and once user clicks OK, MyApp entry can be seen in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Files and Folders and MyApp will be able to access Desktop folder without any issues.
With Big Sur Beta, I don't see above prompt and I can't also manually add/update MyApp entry in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Files and Folders. The only entry I can see for MyApp is in Bluestacks Mac Big SurSystem Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Full Disk Access which is disabled by default. Once I manually enable this FDA (Full Disk Access) setting, MyApp starts working properly.
Since I couldn't get much related info from Beta release notes, I would like to know whether there are major changes w.r.t. app access in Big Sur? Is FDA enable the only option for app access or can we have more granular control (i.e., allow access only to Desktop folder)?
